ENCINITAS SPRING AND HOLIDAY STREET FAIRS
The Encinitas Street Fairs transform downtown Encinitas into a vibrant hub of entertainment and fun. Held twice a year – once in the spring (typically April) and again in the fall (typically November) – these two-day festivals have been a local favorite since 1983.
The Street Fairs offer a dazzling array of over 450 vendors. Browse handcrafted arts and crafts, discover delicious food from around the world, and explore a variety of booths featuring exciting finds and local treasures. Stages come alive with live music throughout the weekend, ensuring there’s always something to keep you entertained.
CONCERTS BY THE SEA
Soft sand between your toes, the calming sound of the Pacific Ocean waves, and amazing live music filling the air – this is the Encinitas Concerts by the Sea, a series of free concerts hosted by the City of Encinitas Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department.
Held throughout the year, these concerts offer the perfect way to spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon. Here, you can groove to a variety of musical styles, from lively Latin jazz and classic country western to upbeat reggae and nostalgic 80’s rock. The best part? It takes place right on gorgeous Moonlight Beach, so you can spread out a beach blanket or set up your chair and soak in the stunning oceanfront scenery.
CARDIFF GREEK FESTIVAL
Step into a world of vibrant sights, sounds, and flavors at the annual Cardiff Greek Festival, held in the heart of Encinitas during September. Here you can embrace the spirit of “philoxenia,” a Greek concept that emphasizes welcoming guests like family.
Indulge in a culinary adventure like no other. Savor the taste of staples like souvlaki and moussaka, flavorful appetizers like spanakopita and dolmades, and traditional pastries like baklava and loukoumades. Browse through a marketplace overflowing with treasures from Greece, from authentic olive oil and honey to handcrafted jewelry, pottery, and other unique keepsakes. You can also watch live musical performances and folk dances, a beautiful display of Greece’s rich cultural heritage.
ENCINITAS HOLIDAY PARADE
Held on the first Saturday of December, this cherished local tradition begins with a tree lighting ceremony at 5:00pm, followed by a beautiful procession of floats adorned with twinkling lights and festive ornaments, as well as marching bands, dance groups, and costumed characters.
Beginning at D Street, the parade route heads south on South Coast Highway 101 until J Street, offering both residents and visitors a great way to kick off the holiday season. Festivities continue even after the parade concludes, with many Encinitas businesses staying open late and offering special holiday sales and treats.
